Icom IC-F5022 #01 BIIS

Icom proudly announces
the debut of the new mobile transceiver, IC-F5020 series.
It is a complementary model to the handheld IC-F3020 series. This series has many attractive features that are suited to small to mid sized systems in market like transportation, utilities, taxies, school buses, etc.
The IC-F5020 series is a radio designed and made like a high-end model, but offers features for simple everyday operation.

  • Max. 128 channel memory channels with 8 zones
  • 8 character alphanumeric display
  • Multiple signalling modes built-in: 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS, DTCS, MDC 1200* and BIIS 1200* (* Limited functions only)
  • 4W (typ.) front mounted speaker and independent volume knob
  • Enhanced scanning features
  • External memory channel control and ignition sensing with optional OPC-1939 ACC cable
  • Complementary mobile model to our handheld IC-F3020 series.

Max. 128 memory channels and 8 memory zones
The IC-F5020 series has 128 memory channels (Max.) with 8 zones. Memory channel selection can be made easily with the up/down buttons.

Alphanumeric LCD
For the function display, an 8-character 14 segment alphanumeric LCD is employed to make a variety of information visually recognizable at a glance.
The icon on the upper right of the display shows the scanning is activated

4W (typical) front mounted loud speaker
The IC-F5020 series has a 4W (typical) front mounted speaker. With the speaker facing the operator, audio can be clearly heard without impediment during operation.

Multi 2-tone/5-tone function built-in
The IC-F5020 series has built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS and DTCS signaling capabilities for group communication.
The IC-F5020 series can decode up to ten 2-tone codes or eight 5-tone codes on a channel. When a matched tone is received, many actions are programmable for each code such as answer back calls, beep sounds, bell icon, radio stun, kill revive, scan and so on. When receiving the 2-tone/5-tone radio stun signal, the radio operation is temporary disabled. The revive function resumes the stunned radio operation over the air.

MDC 1200 compatible
The following selective calling and ANI features are available with the built-in MDC signaling.

  • PTT ID
  • Radio check (RX only)
  • Radio revive (RX only)
  • Emergency (No ACK transmission)
  • Radio stun (RX only)
  • 5 alias tables (Max.)

Internal option units available
The IC-F5020 series has an internal 40-pin socket for an optional unit. Voice scrambler and DTMF decoder units are available, depending on the optional unit installed.

Wide frequency coverage
The IC-F5020 series covers a wide frequency range with one version. The IC-F5022 series, Europe version, has wide, middle and narrow channel spacing (25, 20, 12.5kHz)* selectable per channel.
* Cannot program 25 and 20 kHz at the same time.
Enhanced Scan features
New scan features are added allowing easier migration from other brand radios to the Icom radio.

  • Scan list and scan type
The IC-F5020 series has 10 scanning list memories. The normal, priority or double priority scan type is programmable per scan each.
  • Tx channel setting
The Tx channel the radio is on when the user pushes the PTT button while scanning can be programmable per scanning list. Start channel, last detected channel, priority and preprogrammed channel are selectable. In addition, display setting while scanning is also programmable.
  • Talk back function
While scanning stops or resumes after a preset time, the talk back function allows the user to send a message on the channel detected during scanning, prior to the Tx channel setting. The talk back timer beep alerts you of the end of the talk back time with a beep sound. The user can easily make a quick response with this function.

Nuisance delete ... User can temporary skip a busy channel from the scanning list.
Monitor key action ... User can stop a scan when pushing the monitor button.
  • External memory channel control with optional OPC-1939 ACC cable
The new optional OPC-1939 is a D-SUB 15-pin ACC cable for connecting with various external devices like a PC, external speaker, or vehicle’s horn, etc. It provides the ignition sensing function, external memory channel control (up to 16ch) as well as the external PTT, horn honk, audio output and modulated signal input.
  • Other features:
    - Embedded ESN (Electronic serial number)
    - ±2.5ppm frequency stability both in VHF and UHF
    - Common programming software with IC-F3020 series
    - Improved 2-Tone decode accuracy (2%)
    - BIIS PTT ID transmission
    - Improved CTCSS/DTCS decode speed
    - 8 DTMF autodial memories

    Supplied with:
Hand microphone (HM-152), DC power cable, Key assign sticker, Microphone hanger, Mounting bracket
